Material
Bamboo is not only a more sustainable material, but also a soft and pleasant material that feels smooth against the skin. It is wonderfully soft and durable, while also being a good eco-friendly choice. The plant grows completely naturally and needs neither pesticides nor pest control to survive. It needs no water other than rain, while being able to survive both floods and droughts. Another aspect that makes bamboo textiles a good environmental choice is that it grows quickly, and can reach a full three meters in just three years. The plant can improve soil quality and it absorbs more carbon dioxide per square meter than trees.
In addition to being very soft, bamboo viscose is also three times more absorbent than cotton. That says a lot, as cotton has excellent absorbency, and can absorb up to ten percent of its own weight in moisture without feeling wet. Cotton is also the only material that actually gets stronger when wet. In this product, we have supplemented bamboo and cotton with polyester in the border, to make the product even more durable.
